The greatest conspiracy of the Universe

When I was a kid I used to love English and wanted to have a career in that field. Maybe become a teacher or a professor. But as I grew up, I somehow decided that this isn’t a lucrative career option for me so I did my graduation in Engineering and post graduation in MBA, similar to what most Indians do in their lives. But there hasn’t been a single day where I haven’t regretted this decision.

Today I am a salesperson selling SaaS products to customers over the phone. There are days when I love my current job and days when I wonder how things would have turned up, had I chosen studying English.

As I kept thinking about it, I realized something. Who stopped me from becoming a scholar in English? No one but myself.

This I figured is the greatest conspiracy of the universe,

If you want something very badly in your life, the entire universe will conspire for you and help you get it.

If you don’t want something very badly in your life, the entire universe will conspire for you and will not let you get it.

Our wishes become our thoughts. The thoughts are thrown out there into the universe and the universe helps us get what we wish.

If we think we can’t do it, we won’t do it. Because we have already sent the negative signal to the universe. After that we are just confirming our thoughts saying I knew I won’t be able to achieve this and that’s why it didn’t happen. Why should the universe let you achieve something that you decided you can’t achieve?

The same goes for love and relationships as well. You like someone but you somehow feel they won’t like you back. You go and tell them you like them and they reject you like you expected. Again you have already declared it to the universe you don’t want the person that badly when you think they won’t like you.

Think of body image. You think you are fat and that’s why you aren’t able to get the person you like. Then you think that’s why people in general don’t like you. That’s why you didn’t get into your dream career. That’s why the random stranger on the road frowned at you and walked past. That’s why you didn’t wake up when your alarm rang in the morning. You start attributing and linking every single negative happening in your life to you being fat.

But you don’t realise that negativity attracts more negativity. You are telling the universe, attack me because I am fat and I know you will attack me. Of course, the universe will act as you expect.

Maybe you dreamt of becoming thin but it’s inside you. Put it out in the universe. If it helps, visualise you losing weight and draw images of a slimmer you and hang it in your room. Tell some 100 people you are losing weight by the day. Without you realising, you will lose weight. Trust me.

(I am all for body image and against body shaming. You don’t have to lose weight just to please the world. This is for someone who genuinely wants to lose weight for themselves.)

Think of all the things that have happened to us. Maybe you always wanted a car and you got one. But I am sure before buying one, you would have told at least 10 people that you wanted to get a car. You start saving up for it. You start looking at car catalogues and eventually one day you buy the car.

The same goes for finding the person you love, having your dream career, fighting diseases, traveling the world and anything else you desire.

Most of the times, we just think to ourselves we want something but we don’t visualise us having/doing it, we don’t talk about it, we don’t paint/write about it and end up never acting on it, so we just don’t send the right signals to the universe.

So what I am going to do today is put down all that I want. A lot of positive thoughts here and just think positively and wait for the universe to conspire and let it happen.

I want to teach English to underprivileged and special kids. I want to write and publish a book. I want to do a lot of Social service and maybe join some NGO. I want to fall in love and find someone who loves me as much as I love them. I want to travel the world, meet interesting people and enjoy different cultures in the world. I want to be with people who are happy, fun loving and have a positive outlook.

What is it that you want to do? Add your wishes in the comments or write your own story. Then sit back and wait for the universe to make it happen.
